Many bookkeepers use a standardized accounting program (Simply/Quick/etc.). Within the program you can enter details from a 14 digit invoice number down to the mailing address. As bookkeepers we are sellers of time and by booking all the details we can bill you more.

We approach your bookkeeping requirements by addressing the details needed. What do you need to see and report your activity based on how it needs to be reported for Canada Revenue Agency tax filings. When your Corporate tax return or personal tax return is filed with the Crown, they don't ask for Invoice date, paid date and invoice number. They don't even ask who it was paid to! They simply want your totals so why pay for all that extra detail.

It's all sourced and reported so really the only time you will need to track it back is when there is an audit or a question of was this paid or received and that can be tracked back easily.
